2 women found dead in Imphal

Imphal: Two women were found murdered in separate incidents in Manipur’s Imphal East and Imphal West districts on Friday.In Imphal East, 53-year-old Ningombam Ningol Naoroibam Ongbi Shilla of Khurai was stabbed to death at her home on Friday night. Police suspected property and land dispute as the motive behind the murder. Two suspects Ayam Ronny (29) and Naoroibam Thoiba (65), both from the Imphal East have been arrested, produced before the duty magistrate and remanded to police custody till Sept 26 for further probe.In a separate incident, 30-year-old Waikhom Ningol Moirangthem Ongbi Malemnganbi Devi was discovered dead in her kitchen at Phumlou Siphai with multiple head injuries caused by a sharp weapon around 3.30pm on Friday. Investigations are on and no arrest has been made so far in the case.
